MPS This Week: Jan. 2-5
I hope everyone enjoyed the vacation week and returns to school rested and rejuvenated. Many people use the start of a new year to set goals and strive to make positive changes. My hope is that as a district we will strengthen the sense of community in our schools and classrooms. By working together and caring for one another, everyone benefits.

Around And About
The days before the break were busy, as these photos will attest.

Fourth-graders at Keeney collected coats for MACC, a project coordinated by teachers (from left) Chelsea Gordon, Stephanie Borcea and Lara Wallmark.
Music was in the air at Martin (above) and throughout the district.

AP Calculus classes were caroling at MHS before the break.
Ms. Elsinger from Central Office is a frequent guest reader in Mrs. Wlochowski's Grade K room at Waddell. At right, those are kindergartners at Bowers decorating gingerbread houses.
At Highland Park (left), fifth-graders enjoyed their annual winter celebration,  making snowmen and drinking hot chocolate. Buckley students (right) also enjoyed pre-vacation activities.
