MHS Sophomore Named State’s Top PTA Volunteer

Joe Wilson, a sophomore at MHS, received the Connecticut PTA Student Volunteer Award at the state PTA awards dinner on Tuesday (May 3).

Joe was recognized for all of his efforts in volunteering at Verplanck School PTA and Manchester Council PTA. Joe is seen here with members of the Verplanck PTA.

Verplanck itself took home 10 awards, in the following areas:

  • 100% Teacher membership

  • 10% increase in membership

  • Highest Region 1  Percentage increase

  • 100% Increase in membership

  • Certificate of Excellence in membership promotions

  • Certificate of Excellence in Communications

  • Certificate of Excellence in Enrichment Programs

  • achieving male involvement

  • achieving 10 outside community members

  • achieving student involvement


Congratulations also goes out to the following schools:

Keeney Street School PTA:

  • 100% teacher membership

  • 10 outside Community members

Bowers School:

  • 10% increase in membership

Washington School

  • 10% increase in membership
