Continuing a tradition started last year, we invited seniors to return to their elementary schools wearing caps and gowns so that our younger students can get a glimpse of where their journey is leading. 'Graduation Walks' were held Friday at Verplanck and four other schools and will continue on Monday, and the class of 2017 will have its official commencement on Thursday night at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford. The rest of our students are in school through Wednesday, June 21.

Teacher of the Year
Congratulations to Lara Wallmark, a teacher at Keeney Elementary, who last week was named the district's 2017-18 teacher of the year. We have more photos of the announcement ceremony on the district Facebook page. Incidentally, Lara and each school's teacher of the year will be honored at Monday's BoE meeting at Lincoln Center. Here's the agenda/etc. for that meeting.
End-of-the-Year Block Party Draws Big Crowd
For the second year, our Family and Community Partnership Office helped organize a bash to celebrate the almost-end of the school year. Check the district Facebook page for more photos.
