MPS Today: Thursday, April 6
Destination: New Zealand
Dr. Dale Bernardoni (left) of Fund For Teachers surprised MHS English teacher Kelly Shea on Tuesday with good news -- Kelly won a grant that she will use this summer to visit New Zealand to pursue "self-designed professional learning." Kelly's plan? Read it here.
Tonight: Townwide Chorus Concert
Our third and final townwide concert is tonight, as an all-district 5th grade honors chorus will perform, followed by the 6th grade chorus, Illing Singers and MHS Jazz Choir. It's at Bailey Auditorium, begins at 7 pm and is just 1 hour long. The photo below is from last night's band concert.
Can a Throw Back Thursday only go back 12 days? Well that's what we have -- a video from the recent district Science Fair With Invention Convention. You can see it here.
Movie Premier For 'Little Mitch'
Barry Mitchell, the son of the late "Big Mitch" (the MHS security guard), is a fifth-grader at Waddell with a bright future. Young Barry just had a movie premiere in Hartford, as he provided the voice acting for the character "Ahmed" in the Oscar-nominated animated film "My Life as a Zucchini" that is being shown at Real Art Ways in Hartford. He's some info about the film (including a trailer) as well as the Internet Movie Database (abbreviated IMDb) cast list.
Contest Time
Mother's Day Contest: One student's artwork will be made into a real gold or silver pendant created by Sean's Jewelers (on Main Street). We have all the details here.
