MPS Today: Wednesday, April 5
Color MPS Blue
Staff and students throughout the district wore blue on Tuesday to raise awareness about autism. These photos were taken at Verplanck (above) and Bowers but we also have pics from MHS, Keeney, Washington and more on the district Facebook page.
Up From Down Under
From left, that's Superintendent Matt Geary and MHS Principal Jill Krieger with Max Natol and Belinda Raine, school administrators from Australia who are visiting schools in the U.S. to learn about innovative teaching and learning practices, professional learning communities and more. We have other photos (they visited Robertson, too) on the district Facebook page.
Tonight: Townwide Band Concert
Last night was the townwide orchestra concert (the photo above was taken as elementary students were tuning up) and we have two more to go this week:

Wednesday: Band: combined 5th grade from every elementary school, 6th grade band, 8th grade band, MHS concert band (not just 11-12).
Thursday chorus: All-district 5th grade honors chorus, 6th grade chorus, Illing Singers, MHS Jazz Choir.

All concerts at Bailey Auditorium begin at 7 pm and are just 1 hour long.
Governor's Scholar

MHS junior Matthew Kropp is among just 30 high school students in the state to have been named as a Governor's Scholar for 2017. Candidates are selected based on grades, standardized test scores and an essay and in addition to receiving a plaque are offered numerous academic opportunities by various colleges and universities throughout the state.
Contest Time
Mother's Day Contest: One student's artwork will be made into a real gold or silver pendant created by Sean's Jewelers (on Main Street). We have all the details here.
