On Friday, November 13th Ms. Sethuraman, a Robertson parent, came to Mrs. Polochanin's kindergarten class to teach the class about Diwali, the festival of lights. The students learned about the special foods they eat, family traditions, and how they decorate for this important holiday. The students then made their own Diya or candles. The students also decorated Rangoli. Rangoli are geometric line drawings decorated with rice flour or chalk. These are put in front of families homes as a decoration.

Once a week the Robertson School community gathers together for a “Beehive”. The Beehive is a whole school meeting where we celebrate positive accomplishments of our students and teachers. As we celebrate our accomplishments we enjoy each other’s company through songs and reciting our Robertson School Charter:
We the Robertson School Community promise to be respectful to one another, responsible citizens, and safe for ourselves and others. These are our core values at Robertson Elementary School.
