School Guidance Counselor
Mrs. Griffin is the School Guidance Counselor at Bennet Academy. She is available to help students have a successful 6th grade experience. Mrs. Griffin works with parents, students and teachers in a variety of ways and provides a multitude of services. Each service is aimed at helping children learn and develop to their highest potential.
In grade 6 the developmental program, designed by Mrs. Griffin and Mrs. Cavanna, focuses on personal and social development. These topics include understanding 6th grade academic expectations, self and others, appropriate social interactions and decision making.
In addition to the classroom lessons, group sessions and individual counseling are available on an “as needed” basis. Group topics may include anger management, social skills, study skills and family issues. These groups allow students to share their thoughts and feelings regarding common experiences.
