Three Students Qualify for ‘Invention Convention’ Nationals!
Nine Manchester students were winners at the CT Invention Convention State Finals held on Saturday, April 30th at UConn. These students were judged to be best in their “circles” and each received a CIC Trophy, a Recognized Inventor Certificate and a $25 Gift Certificate.
Here’s a list of the winners:
|Aine Corbett-Cousins||Less Slippery Stairs||Martin Elementary School||2|
|Michelle LaFargue||Baby Bumper||Highland Park Elementary School||5|
|Jeremy Molinari||Pack-it Poncho||Waddell Elementary School||5|
|Reshika Partheeban||Smart Remote Finder||Robertson Elementary School||3|
|Lucia Reyes||Sprinkle Twinkle||Bowers Elementary School||3|
|Riley Ann Shove||Monster Muffies||Martin Elementary School||1|
|Dane Song||Free Flow Cleats||Keeney Street Elementary||4|
|Guruyashini Sundaraguru||Hands Free Reading Pad||Robertson Elementary School||1|
|Ola Taha||The Slide-O-Magnify||Elisabeth M Bennet Academy||6|
Of the CIC recognized winners, each judge was asked to nominate one that would be sent on to Nationals. We have three students -- Aine, Lucia and Riley -- who will be moving forward to participate in the National Invention Convention Entrepreneurship Expo. Because they are all in the K-3 band, they will compete via an online portal with judging performed in advance of the event.
Winners will be announced at the National Invention Convention Entrepreneurship Expo awards ceremony in D.C. on May 21st.
