MHS Students Earn Scholastic Art Awards
Manchester High School's Visual Art Students took home nine awards from the 2016 Connecticut Scholastic Art Awards. The mission of the Scholastic Art Awards is to celebrate and identify students with exceptional artistic talent. Winning a Scholastic Art award provides the student recognition, exhibition, publication and potential scholarship for their exceptional achievement.
The annual art show took place in January. This year, over 3000 entries were submitted by Connecticut art teachers from grades 7-12. Artworks were judged by professional artists and university professors on technical skill, originality and personal voice. There were 575 Gold, Silver and Honorable Mention awards chosen and displayed at The University of Hartford during the month of January.
