Databases that can be accessed from Home

The following databases are all available for you to use with your child from home.  They can be accessed from the Martin School website or the Manchester Board of Education website (www.mpspride.org).

Under resources click on the second choice K-8 which has a wide variety of links.  PebbleGo and ScholasticGo are in the section called Library.

 

PebbleGo   User Name: melem   Password:  read

          This website has modules on animals, science, social studies and biographies.  The language is geared for emergent readers and there is the option to have the articles read aloud as well.  It is colorful and informative and an invaluable resource.

PebbleGoNext    User name:  melem     Password:   read 

This new database brings the clarity and authority of PebbleGo up a level to meet the needs of students in grades 3-5.  With modules on science, states and American Indians it correlates to curricular areas and allows students to learn and do research with access 24/7.

 ScholasticGo   User Name:  martinmps   Password:  martinmps

          This website, aimed at 4th grade and up contains The New Book of Knowledge, Amazing Animals of the World and America the Beautiful.  The databases are full of pictures and multimedia in addition to well-written articles designed to meet the research needs of our students.

 Tumblebooks  User Name:  Martin    Password:  Books

      The Tumblebooks LIbrary webiste has a collection of animated, talking picture books suited for elementary school children.  TumbleBooks are created from existing books, adding sound, animation, music and narration to create electronic picture books.  Books are available in various langagues and the site includes a section for games and puzzles.
