Smarter Balanced Assessment in Manchester
Last spring, Manchester Public Schools participated in Connecticut's annual state standardized test, the Smarter Balanced Assessment. This new assessment measures student performance in the areas of English/Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics in grades 3 to 8, and in grade 11. This test replaces the Connecticut Mastery Test (CMT) and the Connecticut Academic Performance Test (CAPT).
For Spring of 2017, Smarter Balanced Testing for all grade levels will take place from May 10th - May 26th.
Please note: The science CMT will continue in grades 5 and 8, and the science CAPT will continue in grade 10. This testing will take place in March, and will be taken on the computer.
Greatschools.org has released a website to break down the CT Smarter Balanced test scores, along with strategies to help your child. Read more on "Understanding your Child's Smarter Balanced Test Scores."
